Charles Miller has practiced criminal law for over 25 years. He’s been in private defense practice since 2004.
As a Navy Lieutenant, Mr. Miller prosecuted cases for the Navy and Marine Corps throughout the Southeast United States, Caribbean and Guantanamo Bay Cuba.
He also served on the staff of the Judge Advocate General, where he served as a Criminal Appellate Attorney and a National Security Law case advisor. He also served in the White House as a military protocol aide.
Upon leaving active duty, Mr. Miller joined the Queens County District Attorney’s Office and he was assigned as an Assistant District Attorney. As a New York City prosecutor, Mr. Miller was responsible for handling thousands of diverse criminal law matters. This experience greatly familiarized him with the inner-workings of the criminal justice system in New York.
Mr. Miller has appeared before both military and civilian judges and juries, and he has successfully tried both felony and misdemeanor cases. Based on his extensive criminal litigation experience, Mr. Miller has also been appointed to serve on the Assigned Counsel Plans for New York and Nassau Counties. These panels are limited to experienced criminal law practitioners, and they fulfill the constitutional mandate of providing effective representation to indigent defendants.
